So far in this week's poll, 71% of my readers prefer text-only rather than audio and video podcast posts. Anyone out there want to make a case for multimedia on this platform?

I wish I could be as optimistic as you. I'm not sure we're on an upward trajectory, with waning fossil-fuel resources likely leading us into slow decline. That's part of why I gravitate toward older tech. Sometimes I think I should be issuing a paper newsletter and gathering my readers' residential addresses with that in mind!

I love the text. I can scan and slow down when a concept is new or I want to make sure I understand the particulars of something I am interested in or want to make sure I fully understand. Also, nice to have the text so I can easily refer back to it later.

Video format or audio is great when you have guests as it must be a pain to transcribe and difficult for me to find a particular topic I remembered being discussed but having to jump around to find it in the audio/video.

Thank you for what you do. I enjoy learning from you.

Thank you, Fran. That’s good feedback. I’ll definitely keep that in mind. And I very much appreciate the compliment in your word of thanks. You’re welcome!

For me, mostly nay; I prefer to read about a subject. Though there are those subjects that naturally lend themselves to visuals. But podcasts, whether audio or video, require dedicated time. Even if I ‘m just weeding in the garden, I prefer to be completely aware of the sounds around me.
