These fermented green tomatoes really surprised me at how tasty they were. Also, it’s not as obvious on me (being a guy) but I swear I’ve lost some bloating I didn’t know I had!
Great, thanks. I do like fermented foods but my whole body was badly affected by the one and only covid vaccine I had and I had a huge histamine response ( still going on though much reduced after 2.5 years). I've found that too much lacto fermented food makes things worse. Instead I pickle with apple cider vinegar. It's all about balance I suppose. Apple cider pickles reduce bloating for me too just as fermented foods do. Thanks for the recipe!
WooHoo! A sister after my own heart! Same experiences here! I usually buy Bubbies because I’m lazy. But I really need to get back to making my own. Pickled onions have become a new favorite of mine during the summer. Have never tried fermented tomatoes, especially green! Well, other than salsa.
You may have a great “cleanse” routine but I’ve had great success with a tincture from Biocidin Botanicals. The product is called Biocide. I use it when I notice SIBO symptoms showing up again and use it immediately for 15 days. I purchased it through my ND. Just thought I’d mention it because it literally is the fastest relief I’ve found for treating this miserable condition. I’ve also spent ridiculous amounts of money in the past on this pesty problem.
Perfect timing as I have pulled all my green tomatoes before the frost this week. Fermenting is my favorite way to preserve and the taste is addicting! The Shockey’s books are the best. I’ll have to have a look at the updated one as that’s been my favorite. Thanks for the recipe 💚
This is great. I discovered the wonderful world of fermented veggies during lockdown when I didn't know what to do with all my extra tomatoes I'd grown for the first time in my life. I was amazed how delicious they came out, which led me down a rabbit hole of fermented goodies. I will def give the green ones a go! :)

Thank you so much. My late aunt used to make these with a similar Louisiana-style recipe. You've brought back some wonderful memories.

Exciting! Thank you. I look forward to making these- I just happen to have a couple of crates of green tomatoes 😅🐝🌻❤️
More inspiration!
I'm doing this and some carrots as soon as I get back from deer hunting!
