Soooo glad to have you back! I'm also planning a revamped comeback after time spent burned out by ALL THE THINGS. I'm inspired, encouraged and uplifted to see you here again, and look forward to reading new / old musings. With new beginnings comes renewed gusto. Power to you and this new chapter.

Thank you, Sarah. I look forward to your return as well!

Welcome back!! Currently writing a post referring to your newsletter as "sadly retired," which I can now happily change.

LOL, I do hope to happily retire one day. But then again, I don't know that I'll ever stop writing, something, at least, somewhere. ;) By the way, thank you a ton for the paid subscription - your vote of confidence means more than you can know.

After reading your article, I’m curious—what do you mean by 'nauseously optimistic'?

Lisa Brunette's avatar

If I have explain it, then I failed with the article itself.

welcome back, i also have an autoimmune condition (been chippin' away at it for a few years), its changed every aspect of my life including how i practice medicine and the importance of lifestyle for healing (thus my Sub)... it certainly drives home the importance of finding a balance between living, working and creative passions. im ready to redesign my raised beds this year and grow a different crop of veggies but also attempt planting in the native (mixed clay) soil- just for the hell of it :) be well

Thank you, Sonya! I'll be talking more about autoimmune issues this year, and my experiences might be interesting for you, plus I'd love to hear you chime in with your own. I am exploring raised beds as an option as I age and recalibrate away from doing too much. I'm very interested in your new design.

sure no problem. Im happy to chime in. Ive definitely refined my diet over time, in fact that was the FIRST thing i did before I really knew what was going on (via lab results)... I was surprised what it cleared up (but didnt resolve core issues), it certainly helped. of course too much to say on this but really, Im getting excited to grow more swiss chard! last year was my first garden (in VT) and i wonder if i was cheating somehow bc veggies just grew under my novice not-so-green thumbs..

Swiss chard is wonderful! I've found it to be easy to grow and even acts like a perennial when your winter is mild (here in MO, probably not VT!).
